Mitt Romney’s $7.5 Million Super Tuesday Spending Spree!

The verdict is in–Mitt Romney knows how to blow a ton of money! And in other news, there are a lot of primary elections happening today. According to MSNBC, here’s the breakdown for Super Tuesday ad campaign spending:

Ohio: pro-Romney $4 million, pro-Gingrich $739,000, pro-Santorum $950,000
Georgia: pro-Romney $1.5 million, pro-Gingrich $950,000, pro-Santorum $214,000
Tennessee: pro-Romney $1.3 million, pro-Gingrich $664,000, pro-Santorum $247,000
Oklahoma: pro-Romney $576,000, pro-Gingrich $422,000, pro-Santorum $182,000
Idaho: pro-Romney $126,000, pro-Santorum $3,000, pro-Paul $47,000
Vermont: pro-Romney $61,000, pro-Paul $55,000

Taken together, Mitt Romney spent about $7.5 million in advertising just for Super Tuesday elections, and this doesn’t even begin to account for spending before, or after, in the run up to the Republican National Convention, which is being held in Tampa Bay, FL at the end of August.

So where is all that ad money going? Some of it is buying the services of ThisMoment.com, a social media content management company with a client list of Fortune 500 companies, a perfect match for Mitt Romney. Incidentally, they are also raking in huge profits at the moment as well, an impressive move considering the company only launched in 2009. In particular, Romney is using something from thismoment called “targeted victory.” If you go to the Romney Campaign website, the main flash content that loads has a Script calling to this base url: Romney – Believe in America.

But don’t let yourself be fooled, Romney is not the only one dropping a hefty chunk of change on ads, as reported by Smart Media Group.

“As of Friday [Feb 27], Republicans have spent a combined total of $77.8 million on broadcast, cable and radio advertising for the GOP presidential primary (see full list of spenders below). Michigan alone has seen $7.2 million invested there, while Arizona has seen about $1 million.”

Well, for one thing, it is buying ads like A Love Story and Votes:

Sadly, Mitt Romney could be spending a lot of his campaign money on really amazing ads that made people laugh and were informative, and don’t make you want to choke the stuffed chicken in the corner. What would an ad like that look like? Well, I’m glad you asked. Here’s a great example of real creative advertising, Bigfoot -v Mitt Romney.

Until next time…The Truth Is Out There.
